Silverfit

Exciting Opportunity to Work for Silverfit

Who are we?

Silverfit is a London based charity working with people aged 45+ to improve physical and mental health through exercise and social gathering.  We do this by running fitness sessions at venues across ten London Boroughs currently, collecting and analysing data from our members to evidence the positive impact that our activities have on their health and well-being, and actively promoting the benefits of affordable physical activity, to improve older people’s quality of life.

During the Covid 19 Pandemic we launched Silverfit@Home, a YouTube channel of pre-recorded fitness videos enabling people to stay active from their own homes. Our Founder and CEO, 78 year-old Dr. Eddie Brocklesby, is the UK’s oldest Ironman triathlete – an example of, and passionate advocate for the benefits of happier, healthier ageing through physical activity.

Silverfit is working in partnership with Age UK Camden (AUC) to fill this role.

The Director role

Who are we looking for?

This role is ideal for an ambitious manager looking to develop into a Senior Leadership role.

Working alongside the CEO of Silverfit you will have the chance to contribute to strategy discussions and help shape the next steps. It will give you the chance and be involved at the start of the partnership, to grow Silverfit into a new phase and grow your role within that.

You will also line manage a number of staff – currently the Operations Manager who oversees project management of all our venues and supports our Area Project Managers and our Silverfit instructors and volunteer Ambassadors to ensure Silverfit offers a fun, healthy and truly rewarding experience to all of our members. The Silverfit team also comprises a number of non-employed preferred suppliers, sessional workers and volunteers – you will also work with the CEO and Operations Manager to lead these people.

Ideally you will have experience of managing processes and people within a non-profit organisation and an interest in promoting good health and wellbeing within the increasing ageing population.  Previous experience of events management and/or fundraising is desirable but not essential.

You are a great communicator and enjoy connecting with groups and people.  Collaborative and organised, you understand the benefit of building relationships with like-minded organisations, and have experience working in successful partnerships with others.  Comfortable operating with fast-changing priorities and a certain amount of ambiguity, you are positive, innovative and solutions-driven, bringing the best out in those you work with.

Some attendance at Silverfit venues and sessions will be required for this role – this is presently limited whilst Covid restrictions remain in place.  You will require internet and computer access and the capability to attend video-call meetings.
