Silverfit

End of year update from Eddie!

Hi all,

A brief note to thank you all for your support throughout all the difficulties of 2021. We have tried so hard to keep as many sessions going as safely possible – my thanks to our Board of Trustees and to Pete, Clare, and Alicia for all their hard work on the risk assessments for each venue, and activity, and Natalie for getting the information out to you each week and put onto social media and the Silverfit website.  Risk assessments were essential, I thought, given our more vulnerable community (and at 78yrs. with a 4-week-old new hip I’m certainly in that group!)

It has been great to be able to keep so many outdoor sessions going and, more recently, some of the indoor sessions. Getting the right weekly sign-up system hasn’t been easy, although it is vital if the activity has a limit on numbers that can attend safely. Both Typeform and Eventbrite, which we have trialled have limitations, are quite time consuming at the HQ end and not ideal I know, for some of you. Thanks too to Brigit and Rosaria for their online sessions. Don’t forget there are still many Silverfit fitness sessions on YouTube, Silverfit @Home channel– staying fit over the holiday?

Last sessions in December and January restarts

We have tried to ensure up to date information on sessions we are able to maintain over the holiday period and restarting in January, but have a word with your instructor or check the Silver Sessions page which Natalie has kept up to date. Dana will be helping too over the holiday period with picking up the emails via  [email protected]

Not quite such good news as last month on the fundraising front, with no more approvals of grants, and one sad rejection from Sport Unites. But onward and upward for Bradley, Sofia, and myself writing more funding applications.

We are continuing too to explore partnership options for Silverfit charity, so watch this space. We still haven’t been able to finalise plans for annual membership fees but hope to do so early in the New Year. And, as always if you were able to donate to the Keep Silverfit Healthy fund, the link is  https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/keepsilverfithealthy

So, as a final 2021 note, I wish you all the best over the holiday period and a Happy New Year to all. Look forward to seeing you in 2022, Covid -safe, risk aware, of course.
